Starter Board- System On Chip is the way to go now
days because you get so much for so very little.
Yet the leads coming out of the device are almost
impossible to work with in a prototyping environment.
My idea was to have this standard board available
which already has all of the basic items necessary
for the cpu to work and yet has 0.1" (100mil) pins
so that conventional prototyping tools can be used
to develop your pre-production system.
Most of the boards below followed this methodology.
I have a version of embedded basic which ran on 8032
processors and I am modifying it to run on this board
and support the peripherals available and treat the
flash as a disk file system.
Another idea I had for this board is to allow a virtual
console via the usb cable emulating a serial port
for debugging or in system programming as well as
emulate a usb mass storage device. |
