uPSD Microprocessor Starter Board- System On Chip is the way to go now days because you get so much for so very little. Yet the leads coming out of the device are almost impossible to work with in a prototyping environment. My idea was to have this standard board available which already has all of the basic items necessary for the cpu to work and yet has 0.1" (100mil) pins so that conventional prototyping tools can be used to develop your pre-production system.

Most of the boards below followed this methodology.

I have a version of embedded basic which ran on 8032 processors and I am modifying it to run on this board and support the peripherals available and treat the flash as a disk file system.

Another idea I had for this board is to allow a virtual console via the usb cable emulating a serial port for debugging or in system programming as well as emulate a usb mass storage device.

JTAG Programmer- Compatible with ST Microelectronics PSDSoft Express and OpenWinCE Tools on Sourceforge.

When a customer purchases a uPSD Board we give them one of these JTAG boards and a JTAG cable to program it with.

Ministick Periscope Control- The manufacturer of observation vans needed a current technology solution to their legacy control stick. This board provides ratiometric proportional control and new features ensuring a competitive advantage in their marketplace. Costs were less than 1/2 the original discrete design.

Electronic Home Standalone Interface Card- The company this is sold by has many legacy architectures which involve PC's. I convinced them to try our uPSD microcontroller card to design a standalone product which they had in mind. Within one month they had prototypes to show their end users. Within two months of starting they had this final production board in their hands and ready to sell and install.

Home Automation Control Card for PC- A company which designs home automation systems needed a more economical solution. This board was less than 1/2 the cost of their original solution and we still made 100% profit over the costs of parts and assembly labor.

Wireless Radio- Several of my concept products needed low speed wireless capability. I laid out this pcb based on Micrels MICRF505 evaluation kit to prove that we could embed wireless capabilities in our products and devices.

Embedded Radio Control Channel Emulator - This software, written in MS Visual Basic 6, emulates the radio to exercise a filter attached to either serial, rs-485 or two wire interface. A companion installer was used for easy deployment.
